The conference is organized in Utrecht. This city is located almost exactly in the middle of the Netherlands. Even though Utrecht is one of the bigger cities of the country, the ancient inner city feels very cozy nevertheless. Utrecht University is a very broad university, with 7 different faculties spread over the city, 40.000+ students and 8.500+ employees. The YRSPP is organized on the science campus, Utrecht Science Park, which is situated on the east side of the city.
You can travel within the city by using the bus or tram. However for a real local experience we recommend renting a bike! The cycling paths of Utrecht are in perfect state and very safe.
From Schiphol airport
– take the train directly to Utrecht Central Station (train schedules:http://www.ns.nl.)
How to get to Science Park Utrecht from Utrecht Central Station by public transport
– by public transport from Utrecht Central Station (tram/bus schedules: https://9292.nl/ ): Take tram 20/21/22 (direction Science Park) or bus 28 (Direction Science Park P+R) and get off at stop “Padualaan”. The tram journey will take around fifteen minutes.
If you like to discover the city of Utrecht a bit more, we recommend booking a stay either in or around the inner city, or in the neighborhoods between the inner city and Utrecht Science Park. If you like to stay in a more rural area, we recommend the smaller cities like Zeist, Bunnik or De Bilt, all situated on the east side of Utrecht. All these cities are well connected to the science park.
