Prof. Owen Atkin is the Australian National University’s Vice-Chancellor’s Entrepreneurial Professor and Director of the Centre for Entrepreneurial Agri-Technology. In addition, he heads the Division of Plant Sciences at ANU and a research group which is interested in plant metabolic responses to environmental gradients. He is an expert in plant respiration and he and his group study leaf respiration within the context of global environmental change. They include different ecosystems in their studies, ranging from arctic natural systems to the agricultural cereal production systems of Australia. In his seminar he will present their latest findings.
