Hackathon – Boost Your Visibility

Venue: Jaarbeurs Meetup, Jaarbeursplein, 3521 AL Utrecht, the Netherlands
Organizers: ELIXIR-NL & DTL
More information: DTL website

DTL and ELIXIR-NL are organising a workshop/hackathon for content providers of Life Science resources such as Proteins, Samples, Beacons, Tools, and Training events and materials. Join this event to learn how to make your resources rank higher on search result pages (e.g. Google, Bing, Yahoo) or how to include your resource in relevant registries (like TeSS, the ELIXIR Training Portal) that receive more web traffic, so you can expose your work to larger audiences.

The event will start at lunch time on Thursday February 7 and will finish on Friday February 8 at 16:15. A more detailed program can be found on the DTL website.
The first day of the event is suitable for anyone wanting to learn more about schema.org, bioschemas annotations and how they can help increase the visibility of Life Science web resources.
The second day will be hands-on. During that part, participants will add bioschemas annotation to the resource(s) they represent. To make this possible participants will need the skills to modify the source code behind the web pages of the resource as well as have the access and permission to do it.

Participants can register either for the first day or for both days.

Dutch Tech Centre for Life Sciences (DTL) and ELIXIR-NL actively promote FAIR Data Stewardship of life science information. FAIR stands for ‘Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable’. The FAIR Data principles act as an international guideline for high quality data stewardship
