Last week, EPS organised a 2nd year PhD meet-up! From sharing progress to diving into the Science of Failure, we explored the fine line between mistakes and failure. We shared experiences in our PhD, as well as tips and tricks to successfully complete the final 2-3 years. In the journey of research, we’re reminded: errors are stepping stones to success!

It was both confronting and comforting to see how many other PhD candidates also struggle with self-criticism. Perfectionism is something that can limit your growth, but can also be used in ways to improve your performance. We learned how to distinguish good and bad perfectionism, and to increase our mental resilience. It was good to exchange experiences on how to deal with this in a safe setting.
