International Conference Plant Hormones & Other Growth Regulators

Registration: open
Organizers: Co-Chair Prof. Klaus Palme (University of Freiburg, Germany) & Local Organizer Prof. Alisher Touraev (VISCEA, Austria)

Plant growth regulators (PGRs) are numerous chemical substances that profoundly influence the growth and differentiation of plant cells, tissues and organs. Plant growth regulators function as chemical messengers for intercellular communication. There are currently five recognized groups of plant hormones: auxins, gibberellins, cytokinins, abscisic acid (ABA) and ethylene. They work together coordinating the growth and development of cells. Ethylene is mainly involved in abscission and flower senescence in plants and is rarely used in plant tissue culture. In addition to the five principal growth regulators, two other groups sometimes appear to be active in regulating plant growth, the brassinosteroids and polyamines.

As agriculture becomes more mechanized and science increases the possibilities for using inputs to enhance production, the role of PGRs becomes more vital.

This two-day event will provide leading academy and industry scientists a platform to communicate recent advances in “Plant Hormones & Other Growth Regulators”, and an opportunity to establish multilateral collaboration.

The conference will cover the following research topics:

  • Hormone Metabolism and Transport
  • Hormone Perception & Signaling
  • Hormone Biosynthesis & Metabolism
  • Hormone Interactions
  • Hormone Imaging
  • Hormone Evolution
  • Hormones & Development
