”Science communication beyond the traditional media”

Simon Clark is a videomaker and science communicator from Bristol, UK, currently based in Bath. He holds a PhD in theoretical atmospheric physics from the University of Exeter. Starting to create YouTube videos in 2010, he grew his YouTube channel from strength to strength, accruing over 420,000 subscribers and over 34 million lifetime views. He founded a project aimed at improving access to Oxford, created a comedy channel and a podcast as well as  co-founded an unique project using a sci-fi Dungeons and Dragons campaign, streamed live on Twitch, to start conversations about science. Recently, he also became an author with his first book, Firmament. Simon will give us insights into science communication and his unique experience of blending it with research, and he’ll tell us about the interesting, innovative activities he’s involved in.
