11th International Metabolomics Workshop: The Basics and Applications to Plant Sciences

Metabolomics is indispensable in life sciences. This workshop brings together natural products researchers from all over the world to have a chance to discuss the potential benefits and limitations of metabolomics with prominent scientists in the field of metabolomics.

The goal of the workshop is to introduce the concept of systems biology as an observation-based approach rather than a hypothesis-based approach. The major tools are the omics. The final goal is to match the genes with the metabolites; this means to map the networks at the level of the DNA and RNA, proteins and small molecules. This workshop is an excellent opportunity to discuss your own research and the possible use of metabolomics with fellow participants and lecturers.

The workshop targets researchers who are experienced in the isolation and identification of natural products but have not yet had experience with metabolomics. Whilst it is popular amongst PhD students, any professional who would like to learn about metabolomics is welcome.

Registration fees: €800 + 2x optional €200:

1-5 April: Main workshop, maximum of 25 participants, costs €800.

8-12 April: Optional Hands-on Workshop, maximum of 10 of 10 participants, costs €200.

15-19 April: Optional Basic structure elucidation of primary metabolites by NMR, maximum of 10 participants, costs €200.
The workshop registration fee of €800 includes an electronic handout (on USB), lunches (1st-5th April only), coffee breaks and one workshop dinner. A printed version of the handout and a binder with the lectures can be arranged with an additional fee (€50). Please note that the workshop registration fee does not include accommodation costs.
