How to become an
EPS PhD student
The regular way to become an EPS PhD student is to apply for a vacant position on a PhD student's project at one of the EPS research groups.
EPS does NOT provide scholarships, fellowships, etcetera.
If you wish to become an EPS PhD student without applying for a vacant position you should provide for your own project funding by obtaining a governmental grant, scholarship or fellowship in your own country or by private funding.
You must succesfully have followed an academic training equivalent to MSc level; you will also need fluency (written and oral) in English.
As an example, you may read the part "Application (How to apply for a PhD position at Wageningen University)", see PhD Programme Wageningen University.
If you meet these requirements should provide the EPS secretariat with the informations listed below:
- A detailed c.v. including educational details.
- A more detailed description of the subject of your interest; EPS prefers a project proposal.
- More detailed information about the project funding (governmental scholarship, etcetera). EPS wishes to know exactly what will be funded in order to get insight into additional funding needed. Three components should be distinguished:
- travelling and living expenses;
- University fee (amount depending on local university regulations; about € 2.275 per academic year);
- research fee depending on the research proposal and the research groups involved.
