About EPS
Introduction
The interuniversity Graduate School 'Experimental Plant Sciences' (EPS) is a collaborative research and teaching institution of Wageningen University (WU), Radboud University (RU), Free University of Amsterdam (VU), Leiden University (LU), University of Amsterdam (UvA) and Utrecht University (UU).
The mission of EPS is to organize the training of PhD students and postdocs to become self-reliant researchers in the field of basic and strategic research on healthy plants or plants affected by biotic or abiotic factors. The understanding of the functioning of plants offers new means for establishing sustainable agriculture and sustainable production of food, feed, non-food and green energy, and is also essential for the management of renewable resources.
EPS facilitates the training and teaching of PhD students in these fields by organizing PhD courses, seminars and summer schools. EPS received accreditation as a Graduate School by the Royal Dutch Academy of Arts and Sciences in 1993, 1998 and 2003.
EPS has a staff of 33 full professors, 71 senior researchers, and 75 postdocs. About 210 PhD-students are working on a thesis.
